WBCS Notification 2025 & Exam Update

The West Bengal Civil Service (WBCS) 2025 Exam notification is surrounded by uncertainty this year, largely due to the ongoing OBC reservation case pending in the Supreme Court. While the tentative date for notification was set as April 4, 2025, it has not been released yet, creating confusion among aspirants.

Current Scenario: What’s Causing the Delay?

The delay in the release of the WBCS 2024 notification is primarily due to the OBC reservation case, which was last heard on March 18, 2025. The State Government has requested 100 days from that date to submit complete documentation to the court. As a result, the outcome—and all related recruitment processes—remain on hold until at least July or August 2025.

WBCS Exam Timeline: What Happened So Far?

• WBCS Mains 2023 was held on 16th, 17th, 18th, and 20th August 2024 in Kolkata.

WBCS Notification 2024

The West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) had released its 2025 exam calendar, providing important updates regarding the WBCS (Exe.) Preliminary Examination 2024. As per the calendar, the WBCS Notification 2024 was scheduled for release in April 2025, and the application window was initially set from 4th April to 25th April 2025.
