
Delhi High Court Appoints Judge Kaveri Baweja
The Delhi High Court has given a big responsibility to Judge Kaveri Baweja. She has been made the Registrar (Vigilance). This is an important job where she will help make sure everything in the court is fair and honest.
Who is Judge Kaveri Baweja?
Judge Baweja is a very smart and experienced judge. She has worked on many important cases like:
Delhi Liquor Policy Case – She ordered former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to go to the Enforcement Directorate.
Manish Sisodia Bail – She said no to regular bail for the former Deputy CM.
1984 Anti-Sikh Riots Case – She gave life imprisonment to a former leader named Sajjan Kumar.
2020 Delhi Riots Case – She stopped a court order asking for more investigation into Kapil Mishra’s role.
Before this new role, she was working as a Special Judge at the Rouse Avenue Court.
What is Registrar (Vigilance)?
This is a very responsible job in the court. The Registrar (Vigilance) makes sure everyone in the court is doing their work properly and not breaking any rules.
Another Big Appointment: Judge Arun Bhardwaj
Another judge, Arun Bhardwaj, will become the Registrar General of the Delhi High Court on May 1, 2025. Right now, he is a judge in the CBI court.
- He is known for handling the famous coal scam cases.
- Until May, he will work as an Officer on Special Duty (OSD) and help the current Registrar General.
