Kerala PSC Forest Boat Driver Eligibility Criteria 2026

Candidates must satisfy all the prescribed eligibility requirements, including the age limit, educational qualification, boat driving licence, work experience and physical requirements.

Age Limit

The prescribed age limit for the Kerala PSC Forest Boat Driver post is 25 to 40 years. Candidates born between 02 January 1986 and 01 January 2001, both dates inclusive, are eligible to apply.

Age relaxation for eligible OBC and SC/ST candidates will be applicable according to the conditions specified in the Kerala PSC General Conditions. However, the maximum age limit shall not exceed 50 years under any circumstances.

Educational Qualification

Candidates applying for the Forest Boat Driver post must have the following qualifications:

1. Academic Qualification

Candidates must have passed SSLC or an equivalent examination recognized by the Government of India or the Government of Kerala.

2. Motor Boat Driving Licence and Experience

Applicants must possess a valid Motor Boat Driving Licence issued by a competent authority for driving a motor boat.

In addition, candidates must have at least 3 years of experience as a Boat Driver.

The Motor Boat Driving Licence must remain valid throughout all relevant stages of the recruitment process, including:

  • Physical Efficiency Test
  • Swimming Test
  • Practical Test

3. Knowledge of Motor Boat Engine Mechanism

Candidates should have basic knowledge of motor boat engine mechanisms and should be capable of carrying out minor repairs.

The candidate’s practical knowledge and proficiency will be assessed through a Practical Test conducted by Kerala PSC.

4. Swimming Ability

Candidates must be able to swim.

Swimming ability will be assessed through a Swimming Test conducted by the Kerala Public Service Commission.
