Jan Suraaj Party launched by Prashant Kishor

The Jan Suraaj Party was officially launched by political strategist Prashant Kishor on October 2, 2024. Kishor, known for his successful political campaigns, transitioned into active politics with this new party, which focuses on improving governance and the welfare of Bihar. The first President of Jan Suraaj Party has declared as Manoj Bharti.

The party’s formation follows two years of groundwork under the Jan Suraaj Abhiyan, a grassroots movement that already enlisted one crore members before its formal registration. This approach underscores the party’s focus on mobilizing public support from the ground up, rather than the typical top-down formation of political organizations

Kishor aims to overhaul the state’s education system, proposing a Rs 5 lakh crore investment over the next decade, partially funded by redirecting resources from Bihar’s controversial liquor ban. The party’s platform also seeks to balance inclusivity, representing both the RSS’s ideology and minority communities.
Looking ahead, the Jan Suraaj Party plans to contest all seats in the 2025 Bihar elections, prioritizing social justice by fielding candidates from Extremely Backward Castes (EBCs) in key constituencies.
