ECI Publishes SIR Draft Voter List In 12 States: How To Check Your Name & What To Do If It’s Missing

The Election Commission of India (ECI) is set to release the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) draft electoral roll for 12 states along with West Bengal as part of a nationwide exercise to ensure accuracy and transparency in voter records. The SIR process in West Bengal began on November 4, and the draft voter list is scheduled to be published from December 16 onwards.

The draft roll will be available both online and offline, allowing voters to verify their details and raise objections or claims, if required.

What Is SIR (Special Intensive Revision)?

The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) is a comprehensive voter list verification drive conducted by the Election Commission of India. Its main objectives include:

Removing duplicate or ineligible entries
Adding eligible new voters
Correcting errors in voter details
Ensuring an updated and accurate electoral roll

As part of this process, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) visit voters’ residences with updated lists to seek confirmation and corrections.

How to Check Your Name in the Draft Voter List After SIR

You can verify your name in the SIR draft voter list using the following steps:

Visit the official website of the Election Commission of India or the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), West Bengal

ceowestbengal.wb.gov.in
Search using:
Elector’s name, or
EPIC (Voter ID) number

Your voter details will appear if your name is included in the draft roll.

What If the Website Is Not Working or Accessible?

If the official websites are temporarily unavailable or inaccessible, voters can use offline methods:

Contact the Booth Level Officer (BLO) of your polling booth
A physical copy of the draft electoral roll will be available with BLOs
