AEDO & EDO Vacancies
- Total Panchayats in Bihar: Approx. 8,400
- AEDO Deployment: 1 officer per 10 Panchayats
- Estimated AEDO Posts: Around 840 seats
However, some newspapers have reported the total number of posts (including EDOs) to be around 1339 to 1384.
Important Note:
- Direct recruitment will be only for the AEDO posts.
- EDO (Education District Officer) and Block Education Officer (BEO) roles will be filled through promotion from AEDO and existing cadres.
Recruiting Body
The recruitment will be conducted by the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC), as mentioned in the official communication. While the exam is confirmed to be under BPSC, there is uncertainty about whether it will be conducted:
- Alongside the BPSC Civil Services Exam, or As a separate recruitment exam
- This will be clarified in the official notification, expected soon.

- Graduation in any discipline.
Age Limit:
- General: 21 to 37 years
- OBC/Female: Up to 40 years
- SC/ST: Up to 42 years
