BPSC Syllabus and Exam Pattern 2024
The BPSC exam is conducted in three stages:
- Prelims (Preliminary Exam) – A qualifying objective-type test.
- Mains (Main Exam) – A written subjective test with multiple papers.
- Interview (Personal Interview) – A face-to-face assessment.
The Prelims is the first stage and serves as a screening test. The marks scored in the Prelims will not be considered for the final merit list, but it is crucial to clear this stage to qualify for the Mains exam.

BPSC Mains Exam Pattern 2024
Candidates who qualify the Prelims move to the Mains examination. The Mains exam consists of written descriptive papers, including a qualifying Hindi paper.

- Role of Bihar in the Indian National Movement.
- Statistical analysis, diagrams, and graphs.
- Current events of national and international importance.
General Studies Paper 2:
- Indian Polity and Governance.
- Indian Economy and Geography.

Essay Paper:

BPSC Interview
